Did you guys hear?
Since my post about my decision to return to work I have spent hours searching and applying for jobs. We looked at various options and eventually changed from the decision to relocate and get me working full-time, to staying put and looking for part-time work for me.
This change came about because of two things: my absolute desire not to work full-time hours while Little Man is so young and the fact that I couldn't get an interview anywhere anyway. But it still took us many stressful weeks to make that change.
But it was meant to be, because as soon as we decided I should look for part-time work here I saw a job advertised that seemed ideal. The hours were perfect, the skillset they were asking for matched my CV, and it was a very good rate of pay.
That was last week. I got a call from the employment agency on Friday, saw them on Monday, had an interview with the client on Thursday and was offered the job just a few hours later. It all fell into place so quickly and perfectly and I am stoked!
The job is just perfect for me. I'm going to be doing a combination of PA, admin and social media work for a company that trains childcare providers. But the training offered is not the standard childcare training. Nope, it includes things like encouraging young children to resolve issues themselves rather than resolving conflict for them, and using items found all around us in play. And the location itself is just wonderful. I couldn't be happier.
I do believe this job is what I am meant to be doing right now and why nothing else felt right or seemed to come through. But it does mean a lot of change and organisation. We still have to finalise childcare for Little Man, and I have to work out transport to and from work as it is too far to walk and I do not drive. So it's not all smooth running just yet, but I'm sure it will all work itself out.
And in keeping with the theme of change I am also having a big clear out around the house. We have far too much "stuff" crammed into our little house. T is away for the weekend and so amongst some crafting and chilling I'm going to be packing and shifting things around.
