Welcome to the Patch. I thought it might be useful to provide a little "About Us" page for those of you who are new here.
I'm Unitarian, TJ is Pagan, and we want Little Man to find his own path. Our beliefs are diverse and complimentary, and this is reflected in our life as a family.
We are, as a family, Pagan in nature although we don't always live a very Pagan life. Our love of nature and connecting to the Divine through the world around us lends us to a very Pagan, especially Druid, path. However through a lack of Pagan groups nearby and an awful lot of difficulty over the past few years we have not developed many traditions.
We want this to change now that we are a family of three. We want our son to know nature and the things we love about it. But we also want him to explore his own unique relationship with the Divine and know that there are many paths available to him.
We celebrate the similarities in our beliefs, rather than focussing on the differences.
I, personally, stand somewhere between Pagan and Unitarian (possibly both) whereas Tim is perhaps more rooted in Druidry than anything else. I enjoy finding inspiration in both Nature and passages from the Bible, finding the similarities rather than the differences. Tim has done a similar thing with Buddhist teachings. We are, quite simply, diverse in our beliefs. We believe that the Divine is far too great for us to comprehend in any human way that places it into a box with a tiny label, which is why we look to various sources for our inspiration.
However, Paganism is something we truly feel is a great way of living and celebrating life. And this is why we are trying to follow a Pagan path through our life together.
