Amanda is a 20-something, newly married girl who chose to stop working full-time due to her Endometriosis and set up "Amanda's Patch" as a way of using her creative talents to inspire and encourage others to see beyond their own challenges in life.
Amanda's Patch has two aims: to create handcrafted goods that are both of a high quality and affordable; and to encourage others to have a go, no matter how scared they are of trying.
Having spent four years at university studying languages and then working in the childcare profession, Amanda knows what it is like to live on an extremely tight budget. She has looked longingly as so many handmade items, wishing they were more affordable and decided to do something about it. Using her budgeting talents wisely, Amanda chooses quality materials at discount prices to enable her to sell things are a much lower price than many of her competitors.
Her desire to live a warm, comfortable and cosy life, no matter how little money she has, makes her far more aware of the need to encourage and instruct others in how they too can create beautiful pieces by hand without a natural talent or hours of tuition.
Amanda is available to lead groups of any age in a variety of crafts, from inspirational writing groups to basic sewing and jewellery making. So whether you are a local teacher, the manager of a residential care home, a church leader or simply someone wanting a fun party for your birthday, Amanda can create a workshop for you.
