I am very pleased to announce that the eBay auction of handmade donations is now open!!
You can see all the current listings here.
Donations are still coming in, so I shall be adding more items at the weekend...
Items like this beautiful vintage teacup candle (the one at the front of the photo) donated by Love Bird Love
These two stunning key boards, which are currently whizzing their way over from Barcelona as we speak. They have been donated by Nicola Mesken from PimPam
And this absolutely amazing stash of jewellery that was very generously donated by one of Pregnancy Sickness Support's volunteers from her jewellery business...
The photo doesn't do it all justice... there are necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pendants and rings. There are semi-precious stones (Rose Quartz, Jade and Tiger's Eye to name a few), wooden beads, shell beads, acrylic creations and even a creepy spider (that one made me shudder!!)
There is also a crocheted tote bag mae by my crochet guru, but it has yet to arrive from the States and I am at a loss as to where I saved the photo she sent me, so you'll just have to wait to see that one!
The entire auction lasts for 10 days, so even those later additions will still be active for a whole week!
I cannot thank everyone enough for their generous donations and words of support (and wisdom when it comes to eBay) over the past few weeks.
There have been times when I thought we would never get here:
- I took one batch of photos in the early morning light and then decided I needed to retake them as everything had a "blue hue". That's almost 100 photos over the two days!
- The (old and slow) laptop which held the uploaded photos and product information for some of the listings decided not to load, requiring me to fire up the even older and slower laptop and upload/write everything again.
- The past two weekends (when I had planned on scheduling all the listings) were hijacked by a nasty stomach bug which meant I had no chance to work on it at all.
- With only 2 days until the auction and no items scheduled (and a very woozy head from the virus), eBay decided it wanted to verify my account, didn't like my answers, locked me out but also wouldn't let me contact customer services...
- I almost had a nervous breakdown!!
But, despite all of those things, we made it.
I may have shouted and used stronger language than is usually in my repertoire, but we made it.
There are 49 items currently listed and whilst the descriptions may not be as in depth as I had hoped for, they are ready to go.
And it's not even midnight (so I have time for a bath to chill out!)
I am crossing my fingers that in my rush and woozy-headed state I have worked out postage costs correctly, ticked all the right boxes, and edited all the right things (I did a lot of copying & pasting between items to save time!)
If you see any glaringly obvious mistakes, please let me know as soon as you can...
And please, please, PLEASE share the link to the auction with as many people as you can!
Every single item sold will provide much needed funds for Pregnancy Sickness Support. 100% of every item is going direct to the charity. In the past year the charity has grown so much and achieved such great things and it can only get better... but it can only go so far on volunteer will-power alone, funds are needed to make change.
Tweet it, share it on Facebook, blog about it, tell your friends about it, and please consider bidding on anything that takes your fancy.
I shall be making updates at the weekend when the latest donations (currently winging their way here as we speak) arrive and are added to eBay.
And once it is all over, once everything is posted off to the winning bidders and my job is done, I shall be taking a much needed rest.
Remind me to never try and undertake something this big on my own ever again
